Reiki is a system of energy healing, originating in Japan.  

All illness, whether physical or emotional, causes a disruption in a person's energy field, creating a blockage in the body.  The reiki treatment removes these blockages and restores the natural energy balance in the body.  Reiki accelerates the body's natural ability to heal itself on all levels - physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

It is particularly effective for treating any conditions caused by stress as it has a deeply soothing effect on both the body and the mind.  It also boosts the immune system promoting quicker recovery from illness. 

As reiki is such a safe and gentle treatment it combines very well with other therapies, enhancing the efficacy of these therapies and prolonging the health benefits.  I offer reiki in conjunction with many other treatments.  Please see my pricelist for more details. 

What happens when I come for a treatment?

In your first session I will carry out a consultation to establish your past and present health, diet and lifestyle.  This consultation is an essential part of your treatment as it allows me to find out about any health problems you have and design a treatment plan tailor-made to address your specific health needs.  The consultation will take around 10-20 minutes.  I do not charge for the consultation, it is FREE!

A full treatment takes around 55 minutes.  It is carried out on a massage bed.  You will remain fully clothed during the treatment. 

During the treatment I will place my hands in a series of positions, on, or just over your body.  I will find and correct any imbalances.  The reiki may be felt as a mild tingling, warmth, coolness or other sensations. 

How will I feel after treatment?

The effects of reiki are unique to each person but most people feel extremely calm and uplifted after a treatment.  It has a hugely relaxing effect on the client and is excellent for stress-aggravated conditions.   

I will give you aftercare advice at the end of your treatment to ensure that you get maximum and lasting benefits.

My reiki training is recognised by and insured by The Federation of Holistic Therapists.  The largest multi-disciplinary professional association for holistic therapists in the UK.

Indian Head Massage with Reiki (75 mins) 

This is my most popular treatment!  Carried out with the client lying on a massage table.  This is an intensely calming treatment - ideal for relieving stress and tension.

Hot stone Massage with Reiki (90mins) 

Full body hot stone massage using your choice of energising or relaxing oils combined with a reiki treatment and chakra balance.
